Cookie & Storage Policy
Last updated: August 24, 2026. How Parikshafy uses cookies and browser storage technologies strictly to operate the service.
1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies and browser local storage are small text files or key-value entries placed on your computer or mobile device when you browse websites. They are widely used to make web applications function reliably and securely.
2. Our No-Tracking Principle
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, behavioral tracking scripts, or cross-site telemetry pixels.
All cookies and local storage items employed by Parikshafy are Strictly Necessary for authentication, exam resilience (e.g., autosaving candidate code in case of network drops), and user interface preferences.
3. Specific Storage Items in Use
| Item / Key | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| auth_token / refresh_token | Essential Cookie | 15 min / 7 days | Maintains secure authenticated sessions for recruiters and organization administrators. HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict. |
| parikshafy-theme | Preferences (LocalStorage) | Persistent | Stores user UI theme preference (Dark or Light mode) to prevent flashing during page load. |
| candidate_session | Essential Session (SessionStorage) | Assessment Session | Temporarily keeps examination state, live code autosave, and question progress active during the candidate test. |
| parikshafy-sidebar | Preferences (LocalStorage) | Persistent | Remembers recruiter dashboard navigation sidebar collapsed/expanded state. |
4. Managing Cookies
You can control and disable cookies via your browser settings. However, disabling essential cookies will prevent you from signing in to the recruiter dashboard or taking assessments.
